National Workforce Development Manager

Position Overview

Ventia is seeking a seasoned National Workforce Development Manager to lead and enhance capability growth throughout its Energy Networks & Renewables division in New Zealand. This impactful national position involves collaboration with operational leaders, educational institutions, industry groups, and Māori and Pasifika stakeholders to formulate workforce strategies, enhance learning pathways, and help maximize employees' potential.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead nationwide learning and workforce development initiatives aligned with operational and future industry needs.
• Develop and implement training strategies to enhance workforce capabilities.
• Manage partnerships and training programs with relevant stakeholders.
• Mentor and provide support to trainees throughout their development journey.
• Contribute to workforce planning and identify potential capability gaps.
• Forge and maintain relationships with industry bodies, community partners, and Māori and Pasifika training organizations.
• Offer insights on industry trends, regulatory shifts, and evolving compliance needs.
• Optimize learning systems and associated processes to improve effectiveness.

Candidate Profile

• Passionate about workforce development and fostering opportunities for growth.
• Proficient relationship-builder capable of engaging diverse stakeholders and translating requirements into actionable workforce solutions.
• Experience in training, learning development, or workforce planning environments.
• Competency collaborating with Māori and Pasifika educational/training organizations.
• Familiarity with New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) standards and the broader New Zealand training landscape.
• Background in sectors such as electricity, infrastructure, trades, or related fields.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, planning, and reporting skills.
• Adopts a proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach.
