Operations Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an Operations Manager to lead the creation and management of a comprehensive operational framework for a growing multi-site data centre platform based in Frankfurt, Germany. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of establishing effective systems, processes, and governance to support seamless operations across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement operational structures for a portfolio of multiple data centre sites.
• Serve as the principal liaison between senior leadership and on-site operations, ensuring the operational vision converts into sustainable and scalable procedures and teams.
• Develop clear definitions of roles, responsibilities, and governance frameworks applicable to all sites.
• Scout, evaluate, and onboard personnel possessing both the technical expertise and cultural alignment necessary for success.
• Set up maintenance, incident response, and change management protocols.
• Supervise the deployment of Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM), Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Performance Management Systems (EPMS), and other operational software.
• Promote uniformity and automation initiatives across all operational locations.
• Assist in establishing compliance, safety standards, and risk management policies.
• Formulate key performance indicators and operational metrics to monitor and enhance site performance.
• Manage and control budgets in support of organizational objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a technical qualification such as an engineering degree (M.Eng.) or a recognized German certification like staatlich geprüfter Techniker or Meister with relevant sector experience.
• A minimum of five years' experience in a leadership role managing operations within data centres or other mission-critical environments.
• Proven track record in establishing, transforming, or scaling operational entities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure integral to data centre operations.
• Exceptional ability to translate high-level strategic directives into actionable operational plans.
• Strong moderation and facilitation skills to guide discussions and achieve desired outcomes.
• Business-level fluency in English; proficiency in German is highly advantageous.
