Job Overview

Based in Kansas City, MO, this part-time Video Editor role reports to the Content & Programming Manager. The position involves crafting compelling video narratives by editing raw footage into polished videos that reflect brand identity and editorial guidelines. The editor collaborates with producers, content creators, and other stakeholders to efficiently complete various video projects, including event coverage, promotional pieces, social series, and more, all within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit both short and long-form video content for various platforms such as digital media, broadcast, social channels, and streaming services.
  • Combine raw video, graphics, music, and audio to create final productions.
  • Apply color correction to footage when needed.
  • Ensure all video outputs comply with brand, editorial, accessibility, and technical standards.
  • Adjust edits to fit platform-specific requirements, like YouTube or social media formats.
  • Handle several projects at once, maintaining deadlines.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams including producers, hosts, designers, marketing, and development staff.
  • Organize and archive media files and project assets systematically.
  • Incorporate feedback and implement revisions efficiently.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, or similar.
