About the Role
This opportunity is with Mercor, a company that connects highly skilled creative and technical professionals with AI research labs. The organization is based in San Francisco and is backed by investors such as Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey.
The role is for a Physics PhD specialist working remotely on a contract basis, with an expected workload of about 4 to 6 tasks per week. The compensation offered is $85 per hour.
What You'll Do
- Design difficult physics problems across areas such as statistical mechanics, condensed matter physics, AMO physics, and related subfields.
- Support a project built around advanced large language models.
- Produce high-quality training data that helps shape future AI improvements.
- Partner with AI research teams to keep outputs accurate, useful, and relevant.
- Handle tasks independently and asynchronously while meeting assigned deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Physics is required.
- A graduate degree from the US, UK, Canada, or Western Europe is required.
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Excellent written and spoken communication abilities are needed.
- High proficiency in English is mandatory.
Additional Information
