Overview
This opportunity is for a Project Manager who can steer complex engineering work and help turn automation concepts into fully delivered systems. The position involves leading custom automation projects from the point of customer order through final acceptance, while working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams on high-value programs tied to the medical device sector.
Role summary
The selected candidate will own the main project controls end to end, including scope, schedule, budget, risk oversight, customer communication, and coordination across functions. The role calls for someone who can keep multiple workstreams aligned and drive delivery through disciplined planning and execution.
Key duties
- Direct automation and engineering initiatives from project kickoff until customer acceptance.
- Track and manage scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and overall deliverables.
- Work in partnership with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and customer-facing teams.
- Act as a primary point of contact for customers during project execution and updates.
- Support on-time, high-quality delivery through organization, planning, and practical problem-solving.
What the employer is seeking
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience managing engineering, manufacturing, automation, or capital equipment projects.
- A record of completing projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned to customer expectations.
- Strong communication ability and comfort working across several departments.
- Hands-on familiarity with manufacturing operations, technical projects, and project management tools.
Preferred background
PMP certification is preferred. Experience with automation or electromechanical systems is also preferred, along with prior exposure to medical device or life sciences manufacturing environments.
