Role Overview

The company is hiring an experienced Project Quality Engineer (PQE) to join a large multidisciplinary project developing a green hydrogen process plant. This project involves expansion and construction of accommodation in remote areas, supporting utilities, and associated infrastructure. The position demands a leading role in quality assurance and quality control during engineering, construction, installation, and commissioning phases.

This role is suitable for candidates with proven quality management expertise in complex infrastructure projects, including works related to camp facilities, utilities, civil engineering, modular buildings, and MEP systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining the project quality management system aligned with project demands, contractual obligations, and applicable international standards.
  • Creating and updating the project quality plan, inspection test plans (ITPs), and associated QA/QC procedures tailored to remote infrastructure and accommodation development projects.
  • Leading quality monitoring activities for construction works including modular or prefabricated process plants, steel structures, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Maintaining and updating material testing records, traceability logs, and quality documentation supporting project execution and regulatory compliance.
  • Managing QA/QC issues across multiple disciplines during construction, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
  • Overseeing supplier and subcontractor quality performance, including document reviews, inspections, audits, FAT/SAT, and conformity assessments.
  • Ensuring proper quality control of incoming goods, storage, preservation, installation, and testing of materials.
  • Coordinating quality documentation for system completion, handover packages, acceptance, and operational readiness.
  • Implementing and managing non-conformity, corrective, and preventive action systems.
  • Providing regular quality performance and KPI reports ensuring alignment with project management requirements.
  • Efficiently coordinating supplier evaluations and inspection activities.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives through lessons learned, process optimizations, and knowledge sharing across projects.
  • Conducting inspections and reviews of packaging units and equipment to verify adherence to regulations, standards, and project specifications.
  • Performing detailed inspections during project phases such as incoming goods, storage, manufacturing, and installation to assure traceability and compliance with QC procedures.
  • Participating in supplier and subcontractor audits, as necessary, to verify alignment with ITM and customer quality management expectations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in quality assurance, engineering, materials science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Extensive experience in material testing within industrial construction, energy, chemical, or raw materials sectors with deep knowledge of QA/QC methods and documentation practices.
  • Proven capability to interpret technical drawings, material specifications, standards, and regulations relevant to construction and manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques, sampling methods, and quality control principles related to metallic and non-metallic materials.
  • Familiarity with industrial standards such as ASME, ASTM, API or equivalent norms.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools, documentation systems, and data management software to support efficient and precise record keeping.
  • Ability to develop, update, and maintain internal technical standards and specifications.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 and 14000 series standards and other international regulations relevant to oil and gas industries.
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving aptitude with high accuracy and compliance orientation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate constructively in multidisciplinary teams and liaise with suppliers and customers.
  • Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken.
