Role Overview
We seek a proactive Property Assistant to join our Palmerston North team in a full-time capacity. You will be instrumental in upholding the quality, safety, and appearance of our village by supporting maintenance and gardening operations. Collaboration with the Property Manager and Head Gardener will be key to ensuring smooth property management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support routine property upkeep including gardening and grounds care.
- Assist in building maintenance and renovation tasks.
- Contribute to landscaping projects and general garden maintenance.
- Participate in property inspections, identifying and reporting safety or maintenance concerns.
- Maintain respectful, clear communication with residents, team colleagues, and contractors.
Working Hours and Environment
This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, within a supportive team aiming to enhance our residents’ living environment.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
The ideal candidate is reliable, hands-on, and enjoys diverse practical work. You should be comfortable working independently while demonstrating initiative and attention to detail. - Background in property upkeep and gardening tasks.
- Proficiency in DIY or trade skills, with preference for part trade certification.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Ability to work autonomously and take accountability for your work quality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities.
