About the Role
Join BEC Arabia in Riyadh as a QA/QC Mechanical Inspector and contribute significantly to maintaining superior quality and adherence to regulations on notable construction and infrastructure projects. This role supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 by ensuring compliance within a safety-conscious and innovative environment.
BEC Arabia is a prominent entity in the construction and engineering sector across the GCC region. The Mechanical Inspector will be an integral part of the Engineering Department, overseeing quality control across various projects including commercial buildings, industrial complexes, and large government initiatives. The selected candidate will ensure all mechanical systems and installations meet project specifications and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical systems, materials, and installations to verify compliance with project and Saudi Building Code (SBC) standards, as well as international benchmarks.
- Oversee construction activities to ensure strict adherence to approved quality plans, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Examine and validate mechanical shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements for correctness and conformance.
- Perform routine site inspections and produce comprehensive QA/QC reports documenting discrepancies and non-conformities.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and contractors to promptly address quality issues.
- Ensure adherence to Saudization (Nitaqat) and GOSI requirements as applicable.
- Confirm that mechanical work complies with standards set by ARAMCO, SABIC, and other clients when required.
- Coordinate with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team to ensure compliance with OSHA, NEBOSH, and ISO 45001 safety protocols.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Educate site personnel on quality standards to promote a culture of excellence.
- Assist with commissioning and handover processes by verifying operational compliance of mechanical systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- At least five years of experience in QA/QC within construction or engineering sectors.
- Mandatory registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and other engineering software tools.
- Solid understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 quality and environmental standards.
- Knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with ARAMCO or SABIC standards is highly preferred.
- Excellent English communication and report writing abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in QA/QC Mechanical Inspection or an equivalent credential.
- Experience with green building standards such as LEED, Estidama, or Mostadam.
- Advanced familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
- Previous involvement in Saudi Vision 2030 large-scale projects.
- Expertise with HVAC and fire protection mechanical systems.
Working Conditions
- Primary work location is construction sites with some office tasks.
- Exposure to outdoor environments with typical Saudi climatic conditions.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is compulsory on-site.
- Standard working hours with potential overtime during critical phases.
- Occasional travel within the GCC region may be necessary.
