Role overview
As a Quality Improvement Advisor, you will act as the main point of contact and coach for hospitals. Your work will center on spotting opportunities to improve patient care, safety, and outcomes, supporting improvement efforts, and helping healthcare partners reach their goals.
This role is remote, but eligibility is limited to candidates who live in Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, or Wyoming. Internal candidates based in other states may also be considered.
What you will do
- Work alongside hospitals to identify priorities and support measurable gains in patient outcomes.
- Coordinate with local, state, and national organizations to connect providers and patients with relevant programs and learning options.
- Review quality data at regional, state, and provider levels; help run learning collaboratives; and offer technical support as hospitals adopt evidence-based practices.
- Use your understanding of hospitals and healthcare systems, along with strong relationship-building abilities, to engage effectively with partners and providers across the care continuum while staying aligned with state and federal healthcare quality goals.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, public health, or a related area is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (for example, 10 years of healthcare experience, or an associate degree plus 5 or more years of experience).
- Prior experience in healthcare quality improvement is required.
- You should have a strong grasp of quality improvement principles and methods used in hospital environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed, including the ability to build effective working relationships with C-suite leaders, clinicians, administrators, and other healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with regulations affecting hospitals, including CMS quality measures, value-based payment models, and accreditation requirements.
- Ability to coach improvement activities and provide technical assistance in subject-matter or setting-specific areas.
- This position requires an active Enterprise User Administration (EUA) ID. Because the role involves routine access to a CMS federally controlled information system, you must create an Identity and Credentialing Tool (ICT) account and obtain an EUA ID if you do not already have one. You must complete the required training and secure the EUA ID within the required timeframe, or employment may be ended.
Preferred experience
- Background working in a hospital setting.
- Master’s degree in public health, quality improvement science, health informatics, or a related discipline.
- Licensed RN, LPN, MSW, or CPHQ certification.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and administrators.
- Ability to manage project schedules, meet deadlines, and prepare detailed written reports.
- Skill in turning complex data into practical insights and clear narratives for both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
