About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated team member for our Project Controls team to support the Civil North Minor Works division. This position reports to the Project Controls Manager and focuses on ensuring projects are executed with rigorous cost management, commercial oversight, and scheduling discipline from inception.
The role involves collaborating across estimating, project delivery, and commercial control functions to enforce the same high standards applied to major infrastructure projects in our minor works sector. The ideal candidate will be adept at maintaining project momentum, identifying risks early, and using reliable data to inform sound decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive project control support including monitoring costs, forecasting, and tracking performance within the Civil North Minor Works team.
- Assist with activities related to estimating, budgeting, and preparing commercial reports for various civil construction projects.
- Develop and sustain project control systems, covering schedule management, cost control, and managing changes effectively.
- Collaborate closely with project, commercial, and operational stakeholders to identify potential risks, address issues, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Offer commercial assistance to clients such as NZ Transport Agency (NZTA), Watercare, and Auckland Council.
Candidate Requirements
- Possesses New Zealand Quantity Surveyor (NZQS) certification or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying.
- Has approximately 2 to 5 years of relevant industry experience, including 1 to 2 years specialized in estimating and 2 to 3 years involved with major projects and/or heavy civil works.
- Experience dealing commercially with clients including NZTA, Watercare, and Auckland Council or comparable entities.
- Familiarity with CCS software, having around 2 to 3 years of usage experience.
- Exhibits strong commercial insight, meticulous attention to detail, and a practical, team-oriented approach toward effective project delivery.
