Overview
The Restaurant Captain plays a pivotal role in managing and overseeing daily restaurant activities, ensuring exceptional service quality, and maintaining a seamless dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the restaurant team including waiters, stewards, and busboys to maintain discipline and service standards.
- Assign duties and table sections efficiently to staff members.
- Welcome guests warmly, assist with their needs, and professionally address any complaints to guarantee customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate closely between kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations and timely food service.
- Oversee the setup and cleanliness of tables and the overall restaurant ambiance before service begins.
- Support guests by suggesting menu items and taking orders when necessary, ensuring accurate service presentation.
- Verify bills before presenting them to guests and assist the cashier with payment processes and resolving any related issues.
- Maintain high hygiene standards throughout the restaurant, including staff grooming and uniform adherence.
- Monitor restaurant inventory and equipment condition, report shortages or damaged items, and ensure proper handling of crockery and cutlery.
