Role overview

The Senior Development Operations Engineer will own production-change governance and support cloud operations for critical platform environments. This role combines hands-on incident handling with change control, observability, migration support, compliance evidence collection, and cross-functional coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and control production changes, including emergency change handling, escalation to iCAB when essential services are affected, and clear communication of business and platform impact to help secure approvals.
• Act as the ongoing DevOps/Platform Operations delegate in iCAB review sessions and take part in change-governance decisions.
• Assist with cloud monitoring, observability, and platform migration work by partnering with Cloud Operations and engineering teams to move tooling safely and reduce production exposure.
• Offer technical direction during platform and monitoring migrations so that service stability is maintained and disruption is minimized.
• Support live cloud environments by watching alerts, handling incidents such as system alarms or disk-usage issues, and coordinating remediation activities.
• Work alongside Cloud Operations and engineering stakeholders during active production incidents and the follow-up actions after incidents.
• Contribute to compliance and audit work by collecting and submitting evidence, coordinating with security and compliance teams, and joining audit review meetings.
• Help ensure infrastructure and platform configurations align with regulatory, security, and partner obligations.
• Participate in platform rollout efforts such as AIOps by contributing to dependency, risk, and priority discussions.
• Communicate urgency and technical limitations when platform problems affect client delivery, revenue, or other business outcomes, and push for rapid resolution of blockers.
• Collaborate across Development, Security, Cloud Operations, and external partners to support platform operations and strategic initiatives.
• Take part in operating-model and organizational discussions and communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Experience and qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Operations supporting production environments, with practical exposure to OCI, AWS, Azure, monitoring and alerting systems, and production incident/change workflows.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent real-world experience.
• Strong grasp of emergency change procedures, approval steps, and governance frameworks used in production settings.
• Ability to evaluate and explain platform impact and business impact during outages, incidents, or delivery delays.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with strong operational judgment and serve as an escalation point for business-critical issues.
• Excellent written communication skills, especially in urgent cross-functional situations.
• Capability to balance technical execution with governance, compliance, and risk controls.
• Experience supporting compliance, audit, and evidence-gathering activities, preferably in regulated or financial-services environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps methods, observability tools, and cloud monitoring or migration programs.
• Experience supporting client-facing systems, integrations, or external connectivity platforms.
