About the Ministry of Industry Ethiopia

Role Overview
The Senior Expert will be stationed full-time on-site in Adama and will spearhead analytical and advisory initiatives concerning industrial policy, sector strategies, and program execution. Core duties encompass performing research and analyzing industrial performance data, drafting thorough reports and briefs, and providing leadership with evidence-driven recommendations. This role demands coordination with regional offices and stakeholders, tracking and assessing ongoing industrial projects, and contributing to crafting new initiatives and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities and Additional Duties
- Lead research and data analysis efforts related to industrial performance metrics.
- Develop comprehensive reports, policy briefs, and presentations tailored to diverse audiences.
- Advise senior leadership on policy decisions rooted in empirical evidence.
- Engage and collaborate with regional offices and relevant stakeholders to align initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of current industrial programs.
- Participate in the design and recommendation of new projects as well as regulatory frameworks.
- Support capacity-building exercises within the Ministry and represent the organization in technical forums and workshops.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks consistent with institutional standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven expertise in analytical research, including collecting, interpreting, and presenting economic or industrial data.
- Experience in policy formulation and strategy development related to industrial planning, regulation, and program design.
- Strong project management capabilities, including planning, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adept at preparing technical reports and briefs for varied audiences.
- Effective collaboration and teamwork skills to work seamlessly across departments and with external partners.
- Relevant academic credentials, ideally a bachelor's or master's degree in Economics, Industrial Engineering, Public Policy, Business Administration, or comparable fields.
- Practical experience within government bodies, development organizations, or the industrial sectors in Ethiopia is a preferred advantage.
- High ethical standards, dedication to public service, and willingness to commit to a full-time on-site role in Adama.
