Role Overview
The Senior Program Manager leads the management of customer requirements, schedules, resources, and overall program development to ensure customer satisfaction and business success. This position demands expertise in on-time delivery of customer commitments, effective technical liaison abilities, and integration of diverse technical and operational aspects to achieve program milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire program lifecycle from market need identification through sustainment to obsolescence.
- Manage and maintain excellent customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction throughout the program.
- Define program objectives and coordinate necessary resources for successful execution.
- Control program budget, schedule, and key results; monitor program status and prepare detailed program reviews and presentations.
- Develop and maintain the comprehensive program schedule, incorporating cross-company inputs and adapting to changes as needed.
- Assess technical and program risks and opportunities, leading risk mitigation and opportunity realization efforts.
- Identify and capitalize on program or product opportunities to enhance business growth.
- Drive technical and operational objectives while maintaining program progress and punctual delivery.
- Act as the principal customer point of contact, oversee contract scope, organize regular customer meetings, and manage contract deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal teams to generate, review, and deliver technical documentation and outputs.
- Support business development and capture initiatives through programmatic cost and schedule input.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of experience in program management or leadership within aerospace.
- Capability to work under ITAR/EAR regulations and program-specific requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing programs in defense, national security, or aerospace fields.
- Proven leadership in guiding peer teams to deploy integrated products in operational environments.
- Adaptability and self-reflectiveness, with a readiness to learn, lead, teach, and follow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced technical degree.
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and government contracting processes.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, including fostering collaborative and positive work cultures, influencing abilities, and team motivation expertise.
- Problem-solving aptitude and familiarity with program management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits
As mandated by Colorado law, the base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 annually, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Beyond compensation, the role offers stimulating challenges, a supportive team environment, and a remarkable company culture.
