Spectrum Consulting, based in London, is recruiting for multiple senior Android software engineering roles for positions located across several Gulf locations including Dubai (UAE), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), and Doha (Qatar).

Job Purpose

The Senior Software Engineer - Android will apply best software engineering principles and practices to develop high-quality, scalable, and efficient Android applications. The role demands delivering maintainable and reliable software on schedule while focusing on performance and reusability.

Key Requirements

• Educational qualification of a degree or postgraduate diploma in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 8 years of Android development experience, focused on creating enterprise-level mobile applications with global reach and high performance.
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Kotlin, including familiarity with the latest versions and updates.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming, Android SDK components (including security modules and Jetpack libraries), and common design patterns.
• Ability to navigate large and complex codebases with attention to API design to maintain cleanliness and ease of maintenance.
• Proven experience in writing clean, maintainable code and application lifecycle management, from inception to deployment via Google Play Store.
• Expertise in multithreading and memory optimization relative to mobile platforms, along with caching strategies.
• Experienced in CI/CD pipelines and troubleshooting within distributed service ecosystems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, especially in algorithms and data structures.
• Familiarity with modern Android architectural patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, Dependency Injection, and functional programming paradigms.
• Experience working with Firebase services and source code management tools like GitHub.
• Knowledge and adherence to best practices regarding coding standards, security, unit testing, and documentation.
• Comfortable working in Agile development environments.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams by sharing knowledge to improve productivity and code quality.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities for interacting with senior and executive management.
• Self-driven, capable of working independently, and collaborative in team settings.
