Role overview
Insight is looking for a mid-level ServiceNow Developer to carry out module configuration, build service catalog items, and implement workflows under architectural guidance. You will work closely with the Lead Developer to deliver key configuration across ITSM, CMDB, and ITAM for both programme phases.
Key responsibilities
- Configure ITSM modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management.
- Create service catalog items and the related fulfilment workflows according to agreed specifications.
- Set up CMDB class extensions, attributes, and relationship mappings with architectural support.
- Implement Hardware Asset Management workflows and lifecycle status transitions.
- Develop forms, views, notifications, and SLA rules in line with approved designs.
- Carry out unit testing and fix defects found during configuration validation.
- Assist with integration setup, including data transformation and platform-side mapping.
- Keep technical documentation updated to match project configuration standards.
- Work with the Business Analyst team to confirm that configured workflows meet approved requirements.
- Support UAT and help resolve issues discovered during testing.
Required skills and qualifications
- At least 3 years of practical ServiceNow development experience.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is mandatory.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with CMDB setup and Hardware Asset Management implementation.
- Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, including Glide scripting, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and UI Actions.
- Good understanding of Service Catalog, SLA configuration, and workflow automation.
- Experience configuring ITSM areas such as Incident, Change, and Request Management.
- Ability to follow controlled development processes and governance requirements.
- High attention to detail and a strong focus on configuration accuracy.
Preferred experience
- Exposure to ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB relationship modelling.
- Experience with ITAM configuration, including HAM and SAM.
- Knowledge of Performance Analytics and reporting dashboards.
