Shift Incharge - Preparatory

Overview

The Shift Incharge for Preparatory is responsible for overseeing and managing the production process of winding to meet established production goals. The role emphasizes controlling costs, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safety standards throughout the winding and yarn management operations.

Challenges

• Maintaining continuous yarn supply as per Production Planning & Control (PPC) for uninterrupted beam running.
• Maximizing machine utilization despite manpower shortages.
• Precisely tracking drawing accessories used in yarn processing.
• Handling urgent production demands for last-minute sales orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure sufficient yarn stock is available for processing activities.
• Plan to avoid beam wastage enabling full loom utilization.
• Maintain the required standards for getting and knotting processes.
• Optimize the use of piece dyed yarn remnants to minimize waste.
• Guarantee timely turnaround of all BNR orders, ensuring monthly sales order deliveries meet deadlines.
• Analyze beam runout issues and arrange for prior handling to minimize downtime.
• Organize manpower and coordinate timely beam changes to reduce beam setting time.
• Maximize the number of gaiting and knotting operations completed on schedule by proper planning and allocation of knitters and gaiters.
• Improve housekeeping and implement safety measures to lower accident risks and abnormality incidents.
• Enhance 5S standards and contribute to improving workplace organization and cleanliness.
• Adhere to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) guidelines, promoting ISO 14000 environmental standards, and supporting OHSAS 18001 & SA 8000 compliance.
• Identify root causes of deficiencies and initiate new projects based on these analyses.
• Conduct training sessions for operators in respective shifts during WCM meetings to promote ISO 14000 standards.
