About the Role
Ogilvy’s New York office is seeking a Social Analyst for their Data & Analytics team. This role centers on driving data-informed social media strategies that help clients achieve meaningful business outcomes by collaborating closely with business leaders, social strategists, and creative teams. The analyst will lead measurement and reporting efforts, conduct social listening, develop audience insights, and support cultural and competitive research.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ongoing reporting and performance analysis for owned social channels, earned media, and campaigns.
- Create comprehensive measurement frameworks that integrate social, influencer, and PR content.
- Apply social listening techniques to extract insights about culture, consumers, competitors, and identify earned media opportunities.
- Build detailed consumer profiles based on audience data to guide targeting and content strategies.
- Continuously improve skills with third-party and proprietary data tools to maximize optimization.
- Promote data-driven decision making across teams to enhance campaign effectiveness and value.
- Contribute to Ogilvy’s thought leadership in Data & Analytics, reinforcing expertise in cultural intelligence and impact measurement.
- Prepare and present clear, insightful data analyses and recommendations for clients and internal leadership at senior levels.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including creatives, to develop strategies informed by data.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least two years’ experience in analytics or social intelligence, with demonstrated strategic thinking to convert complex data into clear client recommendations.
- Hands-on experience using social listening platforms such as Sprinklr, Meltwater, Brandwatch, or comparable tools.
- Proficient in delivering clear presentations that communicate methodologies, insights, and strategies effectively.
- Experience collaborating across functions including paid media, PR, and influencer strategy for reporting and analysis.
- Familiarity with syndicated and social audience insight platforms like GWI, MRI Simmons, Profiler by Synthesio, among others.
- Knowledge of third-party social analytics and measurement tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprinklr).
- A strong commitment to independently expanding analytical and technical skills through certifications, training, and self-learning.
