Software Engineer III - Networking, Google Cloud

Responsibilities

• Develop network connectivity solutions for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including data plane and control plane components.
• Create network virtualization capabilities tailored for Container and VM workloads on Kubernetes platforms.
• Collaborate with the open-source community to help guide networking innovations within Kubernetes.
• Promote and advocate the networking technologies you build through community engagement such as Meetups, forums, and public discussions.
• Design and implement new networking features to enhance our products.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• At least 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working with data structures or algorithms.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, networking technologies, large-scale distributed systems, software and system architecture concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experience (2+ years) developing networking components such as load balancers, firewalls, NAT, SDN, switches/routers, CDN, network protocols, or caching systems.
• Background in developing accessible technology solutions.
