Job Summary
This role invites professionals with an accounting background to transition into a Special Agent position within the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Beyond leveraging your financial expertise, you will engage in complex investigations addressing national security threats including terrorism, cyberattacks, and fraud. The position offers specialized training, hands-on investigative exposure, and access to state-of-the-art technology to advance your skills and establish leadership capabilities within the field.
Major Responsibilities
- Plan and execute investigations regarding violations of federal laws including cybersecurity and public safety issues.
- Use sound judgment and adaptability to fulfill the demands of investigations effectively.
- Develop and sustain cooperative relationships with law enforcement entities across federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international agencies.
- Maintain physical fitness standards requisite for performing law enforcement duties.
Key Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Eligibility for Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance is required.
- Willingness to travel as duties demand.
- Fulfill FBI’s Employment Eligibility criteria.
Education and Credentials
Applicants must possess at least a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. accredited institution, ideally in accounting or a related discipline such as business administration, finance, or forensic accounting. Official college transcripts are required to validate academic qualifications.
Salary Information
The annual pay range for this position is $93,749 to $133,200, adjusted based on base pay, locality, and availability compensation.
