About the Role
Uber’s US & Canada Mobility Operations team seeks an enthusiastic Strategic Operations Associate who excels at setting vision, collaborating across functions, driving projects from conception to completion, and solving problems both at a high strategic level and in detailed execution.
The role centers around leveraging extensive daily data to guide decisions that impact marketplace balance, improve experiences for earners and riders, optimize incentives and promotions, analyze customer behavior, launch new products, and more. Strategic Operations Associates craft and deploy strategies focusing on marketplace equilibrium, targeting earner incentives, managing local markets, and remedying operational inefficiencies. They find a balance between refining current processes and setting tangible goals that align with organizational ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute strategic plans to meet key business objectives.
- Analyze and interpret critical operational and financial metrics to shape strategy and determine appropriate actions.
- Diagnose root causes of potential risks and opportunities, evaluate various practical solutions, and recommend optimal approaches.
- Enhance and scale core analyses and operational processes, ensuring ongoing performance evaluation.
- Identify potential product enhancements or new features to elevate marketplace experience and efficiency; collaborate with Product teams to measure impact and implement improvements.
- Foster strong partnerships across multiple departments including operations, marketing, customer support, product, policy, and legal to define, test, and roll out initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is a must.
- At least one year of professional experience in fields such as investment banking, consulting, business intelligence, strategy, or related sectors.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, including data modeling and visualization capabilities.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with statistical and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or Stata.
- Experience in high-growth operational settings or startups.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence senior and external stakeholders.
- Skill in translating complex data analyses into compelling narratives suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Analytical mindset grounded in data-driven decision-making; comfortable working both in detail and with overarching business views.
- Strong communication skills to clearly present data insights in an engaging yet concise fashion.
- Team-oriented approach promoting respect, open communication, and diversity.
- Track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while maintaining quality standards.
- Competence in detailed project planning, including stages, milestones, dependencies, and responsibilities.
Compensation and Benefits
For the New York, NY position, the annual base salary ranges from USD 106,000 to USD 118,000. Eligible employees may receive bonuses, equity awards, and participate in a 401(k) retirement plan alongside other employee benefits.
Work Environment
While remote work is possible, employees are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in-office to uphold collaboration and company culture unless fully remote status is approved. Some roles may require full-time on-site presence.
