Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with accepted engineering, design standards, regulatory mandates, and client specifications.
- Assist in standardizing equipment specifications, technical drawings, and documentation templates.
- Enhance the understanding of technical knowledge, applicable legal requirements, and client expectations wherever feasible.
- Apply local and global standards to maintain technical excellence.
- Participate in review processes including checks and peer feedback integration.
- Adopt recognized engineering methodologies specific to offshore structural design.
- Develop design specifications related to offshore structural engineering projects.
- Create detailed designs, drawings, specifications, data sheets, calculations, and reports while adhering to quality checking protocols.
- Maintain up-to-date and precise design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review designs to confirm compliance with user requirements.
- Conduct technical studies and analyses, proposing effective solutions.
- Identify professional risks, statutory responsibilities, and potential liabilities.
- Ensure supporting documentation for design implementation is comprehensive, clear, and accurate.
- Prepare Materials Take-Offs (MTOs) and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Be available to conduct offshore site surveys as needed.
- Deliver discipline-specific engineering services, including scope change assessments and contributing to multi-disciplinary project activities.
Quality Assurance & Safety
- Operate within prescribed Quality Assurance systems and guidelines.
- Prioritize personal safety and adhere strictly to Occupational Health & Safety protocols.
- Integrate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) considerations throughout the design process with a focus on process safety and best practices.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Mandatory accreditation from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) in engineering, or willingness to obtain it during the probation period.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards it is advantageous.
Professional Experience
- Proven structural engineering experience within offshore oil and gas sectors.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary offshore structural projects and teams.
- Solid grasp of discipline-specific design and engineering across various areas.
- Preference for candidates with experience in marine and port infrastructure, including quay walls, jetties, dolphins, and pavements.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, AutoCAD, among others.
