Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer based in Queenstown to join our dynamic and collaborative team. This role offers involvement from the initial design stages through to project completion, contributing to significant developments that impact communities across New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural design, perform engineering analyses, and execute calculations for diverse commercial projects.
• Design and coordinate structural systems using concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and develop temporary works as needed.
• Prepare, review, and manage drawings, specifications, technical documents, and engineering reports.
• Conduct site inspections ensuring construction complies with structural design and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Identify potential structural risks early and devise practical and cost-efficient solutions.
• Ensure all structural work adheres to New Zealand Building Code and industry standards.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and troubleshooting support to project teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Structural Engineering with Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) accreditation.
• At least 10 years of experience focused on structural design and commercial construction projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques involving steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software and CAD systems.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven track record leading design consultants and technical teams.
• Detail-oriented with a results-driven and solution-focused approach.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a high-performing team.
• In-depth understanding of New Zealand building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
