Technical Product Owner - E-commerce Magento

About the Role

Baser is a growing Danish brand specializing in premium parasols engineered for durability. Operating across Denmark, Germany, the UK, Australia, and the US, our growth is supported by a Magento-based e-commerce platform managing five storefronts with a unified catalogue, orders, deliveries, and customer interactions. We are seeking a dedicated Technical Product Owner to oversee and enhance this platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the product catalogue consisting of several hundred variations across five country-specific storefronts, ensuring data accuracy and proper presentation of product pages.
• Oversee Magento platform configuration, ensuring storefront behavior aligns with requirements per market and globally defining operational standards.
• Manage integrations with warehouse, finance, shipping carriers, and customer support systems by defining data flows, frequencies, and handling exceptions.
• Serve as the primary liaison for our Magento development agency by managing tickets, drafting briefs, evaluating estimates, and ensuring timely completion of development tasks.
• Lead the redevelopment of the storefront using Hyvä, coordinating the build phase through to launch.

Work Culture and Approach

Our small, efficient team emphasizes automation and continuous improvement, resolving issues permanently by creating preventing mechanisms such as scripts, integrations, monitoring tools, and leveraging AI. This hands-on role involves detailed checks—from verifying product data in spreadsheets to confirming multilingual page rendering in Magento Admin—enabling informed automation decisions.

Who We Are Looking For

• Proven experience owning and managing an e-commerce platform, specifically with daily hands-on involvement in Magento Admin (without necessarily coding).
• Strong problem-solving skills, especially in resolving discrepancies between webshops and warehouse or finance systems.
• Business-first mindset complemented by technical savvy, including understanding APIs, integration scoping, and effectively briefing developers.
• Proficiency or experience with automation and AI-driven tools such as n8n, Zapier, Apps Script, Python, or similar technologies is highly appreciated.
• Ability to maintain high data quality standards and the discipline to improve and smooth platform operations continually.

Working at Baser

We operate fully remotely with flexible hours focused on output, synchronizing primarily on European time zones with real-time collaboration. Occasional in-person meetings happen once or twice yearly to reinforce team relationships. Reporting directly to the founders, this role offers significant autonomy and visibility where decisions impact business swiftly.
