Job Summary

This role involves extensive testing and validation of mobile devices and network functionalities, focusing on leading-edge 5G and LTE technologies. The engineer will perform diverse testing activities, drive network optimization efforts, and support software and firmware debugging alongside coordination with customers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-launch and field tests on smartphones, FWA routers, and IoT gadgets.
• Carry out stationary and mobility assessments for 5G, LTE, VoLTE, VoWiFi performance under various network settings.
• Evaluate network KPIs such as coverage, throughput, handover success, call drop rates, and voice quality metrics.
• Validate features for chipsets including Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Spreadtrum.
• Execute comprehensive device validation aligned with carrier and vendor standards.
• Drive testing and log evaluations to troubleshoot LTE and 5G network performance issues.
• Optimize networks through benchmarking, RF parameter tuning, and management of handovers and interference.
• Adjust antenna setups and influence network deployment and coverage planning strategies.
• Flash and test firmware on mobile and IoT devices, resolving network registration and UI issues.
• Utilize specialized tools such as JIRA, QXDM, QPST, Nemo Outdoor, Wireshark, and NetAct for bug tracking and log analysis.
• Analyze LTE and 5G NR protocols including SRVCC, CSFB, inter-RAT handovers, and carrier aggregation.
• Test networking protocols like IPv4/IPv6 and security elements such as SIM and PIN locks.
• Collaborate with R&D and development teams by delivering detailed test reports and recommendations.
• Support telecom operators in long-term network planning and feature verification.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Wireless Communication, or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mobile device testing, chipset validation, and network optimization.
• Expertise in 5G, LTE, VoLTE, VoNR, SRVCC, and IMS technologies.
• Robust understanding of RF engineering, network tuning, and protocol scrutiny.
• Proficient with testing software including QXDM, QPST, Nemo Outdoor, Wireshark, and JIRA.
• Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot network interference, handover issues, coverage gaps, and throughput problems.
