Role Overview

The Traffic Supervisor is entrusted with overseeing and expanding a safe, productive, and profitable operational region. This position supervises and coordinates traffic controller teams to guarantee efficient operations both on the day of the job and in upcoming projects, meeting client expectations. The role is headquartered at the Bundaberg depot with responsibilities requiring travel among various sites, depots, and offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site audits and maintain presence ensuring safe and efficient job execution in compliance with company protocols.
  • Implement approved systems ensuring traffic controllers accurately complete site records, pre-start checks, vehicle and signage inspections, and stock inventories.
  • Comply with the incident reporting and escalation procedures by immediately informing the Regional or State Manager about any serious or public interest incidents.
  • Escalate all client feedback, whether compliments or complaints, to the Regional Manager and ensure adherence to the Corrective Preventive Action process.
  • Ensure completion of all client-related documentation and participate in onboarding new clients.
  • Review and manage daily and weekly staff rosters, addressing any rejected shifts promptly.
  • Ensure all company vehicles are maintained in a roadworthy condition.
  • Oversee the inventory of signage on vehicles and in storage, conducting annual stock counts for each vehicle.
  • Contribute to budgeting processes, especially regarding revenue, expenses, and building the annual profit and loss budget.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience as a traffic controller with at least three years in supervisory capacity.
  • Comprehensive understanding of traffic management plans and safety standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong leadership abilities to motivate and support large teams under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to maintain operations within budget and schedule.
  • Critical thinking and effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Current valid traffic control certification and a driver's license.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the aptitude for delivering constructive feedback.
  • Ability to foster strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service.
