Key Responsibilities

• Operate various sanding machines and hand tools to smooth wood surfaces and edges.
• Repair and fill imperfections in wood parts prior to finishing.
• Mask components accurately in preparation for finishing processes.
• Apply stains, sealants, and other finishing products to wood surfaces.
• Inspect completed wood surfaces to confirm they meet quality standards.
• Strip existing finishes to ready parts for new finishing applications.
• Clean and maintain sanding equipment and hand tools routinely.
• Interpret and follow shop drawings and specifications precisely.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in wood manufacturing, preferably in store fixture production.
• Solid understanding of wood sanding techniques and principles.
• Proficient use of hand tools relevant to wood sanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes.
• Physical capability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Positive and cooperative approach towards teamwork and communication.
• Capability to comprehend and execute written and verbal instructions.
• Consistent attendance and reliability in work schedule.
• Motivated, self-directed, and possessing a strong work ethic.
