Role Summary

The Architect II will undertake comprehensive architectural responsibilities including the planning, design, supervision, and administration of new construction, building extensions, modifications, and renovation projects within AL TAIF TECHNICAL SERVICES LLC. This role involves creating and reviewing project planning documentation to ensure alignment with program goals and coordinating long-term facilities planning supportive of all AL TAIF programs.

The architect is expected to work according to current standards including ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems. The role requires strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental directives, fostering a secure and healthy workplace, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee architectural and engineering services through all phases of project planning.
• Evaluate and track consultant and contractor performance against contractual and technical standards.
• Assist in preparing contract timelines for planning and programming deliverables.
• Support internal teams in initiating new architectural and engineering projects, including defining project needs, drafting Scopes of Work (SOW), selecting professionals, and validating completed assessments.
• Examine construction proposals to verify technical robustness.
• Lead environmentally sustainable facilities planning and design, incorporating principles of sustainable development and energy efficiency.
• Conduct initial conceptual project studies and analyze alternatives for building systems and components.
• Regularly assess progress toward major objectives and the implementation of master plans.
• Contribute to the early stages of facility development and refurbishment projects.
• Engage actively in preliminary and critical design reviews, establishing and defending project requisites.
• Provide expert guidance and advanced professional support to senior leadership.
• Ensure confidentiality and safeguard company information.
• Assist the Facilities Department team in completing departmental goals and duties.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisors or departmental management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture is mandatory; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 to 5 years of professional experience in the architectural domain.
• Experience within the Gulf States or Middle East region is an advantage.
• Preferably, a strong ability to comprehend and apply advanced theoretical concepts and recent developments in architecture and associated scientific and engineering disciplines.
• Demonstrated sound judgment developed through substantial experience in applying standard architectural design and construction methodologies is advantageous.
• A valid UAE driver’s license or eligibility to acquire one is required.
