Architectural Designer

Role overview

P+A Projects Pte Ltd is looking for an Architectural Designer to support the full design process from early concept through regulatory submission and site follow-up. The role involves turning a client’s brief into a detailed, compliant design while coordinating with authorities, internal stakeholders, and project teams to ensure the final outcome reflects the intended vision.

Key responsibilities

• Support clients in shaping and refining the project design brief.
• Carry out early-stage research into applicable regulations and approval requirements.
• Review site conditions and relevant controls, including RLP, SIP, DIP, and other compliance factors.
• Generate ideas and prepare the first design concepts.
• Check that the concept aligns with regulatory and development requirements.
• Liaise with authorities to clarify specific approval conditions.
• Help the client further develop and refine the brief as the project progresses.
• Advance the design in detail for Development Control submissions and other regulatory processes.
• Prepare outline specifications covering materials, quality standards, and construction approach.
• Develop design details across exterior, interior, and landscape areas.
• Improve planning efficiency and the overall spatial experience.
• Strengthen the visual quality through careful design detailing.
• Make sure the design intent can be accurately translated into working drawings and built works.
• Recommend materials and construction methods that support the approved design direction.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Administrator to produce SketchUp models to exact specifications.
• Attend site inspections to confirm that the works reflect the design intent.
• Identify and resolve any design-related issues or technical problems.
• Handle ad hoc design modifications when required.
• Review completed work on site against the original design intent.
• Assess design shortcomings and defects that arise from the design process.

Requirements

• Genuine enthusiasm for architecture, interior architecture, and interior design.
• Solid understanding of colour selection and material specification.
• Hands-on capability with Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Revit, and PowerPoint.
• Comfortable working in a demanding, fast-moving environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, either locally or overseas.
• Strong portfolio showcasing relevant design work.
• Self-driven, careful, and able to work well as part of a team.
