Assistant Design Manager

Overview

The Assistant Design Manager will oversee the management and delivery of assigned design work packages, ensuring they adhere to the planned schedule. This role requires coordination with design teams and subcontractors to integrate their activities effectively within the overall project timeline. Complying with the Design Management Plan, the Assistant Design Manager ensures proper design control processes and governance are upheld, facilitating seamless coordination and integration of design developments while maintaining quality and completeness standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate design teams and subcontractors tied to allocated work packages to align their activities with the project program.
• Apply and enforce design control processes to ensure designs integrate and coordinate properly throughout development.
• Verify exchanged information for completeness and quality, ensuring reviews by qualified personnel as necessary.
• Maintain design scope alignment as progress continues.
• Assist Design Manager and Senior Design Manager in communications with Commercial, Construction, and Planning teams.
• Support design leadership by performing Lead Designer activities related to self-assurance.
• Contribute to monthly and weekly reporting cycles, identifying issues along with strategies to mitigate potential delays or increased costs.
• Provide input to project reports and performance metrics alongside the Design Manager team.

Skills and Tools

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and online document management platforms.
• Experience in design assurance and coordination.
• Strong reporting capabilities.

• Location: London, United Kingdom, specifically Euston; accessible by public transport.
