Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Barista to join our dynamic team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This full-time, onsite role involves engaging with customers, preparing a variety of beverages and foods, and maintaining a welcoming environment that promotes customer satisfaction and service quality.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, provide information about specials or new items, respond to inquiries, and handle orders and payments efficiently.
• Prepare menu items such as sandwiches and baked goods, grind and blend coffee beans, brew coffee and tea, and serve these items to patrons.
• Package food and beverages for customers taking purchases to go.
• Promote and sell various coffee and tea blends along with brewing equipment by educating customers on their unique characteristics and brewing techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces and dining areas, dispose of trash responsibly, and sanitize all equipment and utensils regularly.
• Continually update knowledge about beverage brewing methods, food preparation, and presentation to enhance quality and customer experience.
• Refresh signage and displays to attract customer interest and boost sales.
• Monitor inventory levels and restock items in display cases, tables, and behind the counter as needed.
• Collaborate effectively as part of a vibrant, fast-paced team environment.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety standards and quality controls.

Requirements

• Completion of high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• Prior experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred, along with eagerness to learn and develop further skills in this area.
• Excellent listening abilities and clear communication skills.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and bend for prolonged periods during shifts.
• Flexible availability to cover peak operational hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• A courteous and engaging demeanor conducive to positive customer interactions.
• Dedication to maintaining high standards of customer service and satisfaction.
• A willingness to contribute as a proactive member of a high-energy and efficient team in a fast-paced setting.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.50 to $20.00.
