Role Purpose

The Category Development Analyst will be part of Diageo's Category Development team within the Key Accounts division. The position focuses on providing analytics and insights to support Key Account teams. Responsibilities include assisting with category assessment, consumer insights, performance evaluations, assortment optimization, and planogram recommendations through fact-based approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with retailer merchant teams and cross-functional partners to achieve objectives and goals.

  • Leverage various data sources such as syndicated data and retailer POS data to build and support analytics tools and systems.

  • Take ownership of assigned tools, processes, and tasks within the category management function.

  • Operate effectively in a dynamic and highly SKU-intensive environment requiring flexibility.

Experience and Skills Required

  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in Category Management, analytics, or insights, preferably within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Adult Beverage sectors.
  • Experience working with syndicated and proprietary data sources such as Nielsen, Numerator, panel data, shopper loyalty data, and sales performance tracking.
  • Proficiency with category management software, including space planning tools like JDA and/or Shelf IQ, and syndicated data systems.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to translate insights into actionable store execution plans.
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational capabilities.
  • Capacity to work independently within a hybrid environment.
