About the Company
A leading global consumer brand is expanding its category and growth function in India and is hiring through Flexiple. The role offers ownership of a category that already reaches millions of shoppers, with a chance to influence how it expands in one of the world’s largest markets. Flexiple operates as a managed hiring platform that supports international companies in building strong teams and GCCs in India.
Role Overview
As the Category Manager, you will take end-to-end responsibility for the category’s performance. Your work will span assortment planning, pricing, promotions, and supplier partnerships, with the goal of using data-led decisions to improve revenue and margin.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead category planning, assortment selection, and pricing choices.
- Track and manage category P&L, margin goals, and growth targets.
- Coordinate promotions and product launches with marketing and supply teams.
- Build supplier and vendor relationships while negotiating commercial terms.
- Review sales, market share, and shopper insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare category updates, findings, and recommendations for leadership.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Has 3 to 7 years of experience in category management, buying, or merchandising.
- Brings strong commercial thinking, analytical ability, and a P&L-oriented mindset.
- Is comfortable working with Excel or Google Sheets and analysing sales data.
- Communicates clearly in written and spoken English and has a dependable remote-work setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in retail, e-commerce, FMCG, or consumer goods is preferred.
- Experience in supplier negotiation and vendor management will be an advantage.
- An MBA or other postgraduate business qualification is desirable.
