About the Role
The Portland Leisure and Aquatic Centre seeks a dedicated Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for all facility users and members. This opportunity is part of an internal cleaning team focused on ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the centre year-round.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the facility to guarantee a safe space for patrons and staff.
- Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Risk Management, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Adhere strictly to approved safe work practices and procedures.
- Follow all safety protocols relevant to staff and program operations to minimize hazards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a valid Working with Children Check or equivalent clearance.
- Successful completion of a Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Familiarity with recognized cleaning standards and best practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional appearance with neat attire.
Additional Information
- Expected work availability is about 3 hours daily, scheduled according to patron usage, with additional weekend relief shifts as needed.
