Role Overview

This full-time commis position is based in Singapore at The Singapore EDITION, within the food and beverage and culinary function. The role is non-management and focuses on supporting kitchen operations with consistent food preparation, plating, cleanliness, and service standards.

Key Duties

• Assist the chef during peak service times so kitchen operations run smoothly.
• Inform the manager when ingredients or finished products do not meet required standards.
• Verify that kitchen appliances and food are being held at the correct temperatures.
• Track how much food is being prepared and ensure portions served are accurate.
• Arrange food properly, including garnish and presentation, before serving.
• Portion items onto the correct serving ware.
• Set up the workstation, then clean and dismantle it after use.
• Wash and sanitize kitchen surfaces, utensils, knives, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, chopping, portioning, and storing them correctly.
• Wash and peel fresh produce.
• Cook food as required by the kitchen.

• Comply with all company, safety, and security procedures.
• Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Keep uniform and personal presentation neat and professional.
• Handle confidential company information appropriately and protect company property.
• Greet guests in line with company service standards.
• Use clear, professional communication with colleagues and others.
• Build positive working relationships and help the team achieve shared goals.
• Maintain required quality and service standards.
• Be prepared for extended standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
