Overview
The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) is seeking a full-time Constituent Services Facility Liaison to be stationed on-site at the Tutwiler Correctional Facility in Wetumpka, Alabama. This role involves professional administrative and technical support duties under moderate supervision, aiding communication and coordination related to the custody population.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update a database tracking statistical data related to the Constituent Services program.
- Respond accurately and securely to requests for information, both verbally and in writing, at the facility level.
- Foster cooperative working relationships with staff and public contacts in alignment with departmental goals.
- Assist with gathering, compiling, and reviewing relevant statistical information.
- Support preparation of reports, studies, and special research efforts.
- Monitor and help review operations and programs for compliance with policies, procedures, and contractual agreements.
- Collaborate with program and facility staff to identify trends, solve technical issues, and recommend improvements.
- Provide technical assistance to staff and public as needed.
- Participate in site visitations, advocacy meetings, calls, and related events as requested.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required with at least three years of full-time professional experience in case processing, customer service, clerical/administrative support, technical program support, or operational support.
- Alternatively, a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any discipline is acceptable, with a preference for coursework in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation tools) is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient computer skills and comprehensive knowledge of relevant office software.
- Aptitude to interpret and apply policies and procedures precisely.
- Capability to prepare and maintain organized records, files, and reports effectively.
- If applicable, applicants should provide documentation of all college-level courses taken in psychology, counseling, or social work, including transcripts and credit details.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays.
- Must hold a valid Alabama driver's license at the time of appointment.
