Role Overview

Laurel is seeking its inaugural Controller, a pivotal role reporting directly to the CFO during a key growth phase. With substantial market traction and exceptional growth achieved, the company is expanding from a premier time intelligence platform into a broader enterprise workflow intelligence venture. This role is crucial for constructing the financial foundation necessary for this evolution.

The Controller will create and architect the accounting function from scratch, establishing scalable processes, policies, controls, and implementing top-tier systems. This position will also define what an AI-driven finance organization looks like at scale.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations and month-end close procedures.
• Develop and implement scalable accounting policies, controls, and reporting frameworks.
• Oversee audits and maintain relationships with external accounting partners.
• Lead process automation and apply AI-enabled efficiencies in the finance function.
• Recruit, build, and mentor the future accounting team.
• Collaborate strategically with the CFO and executive leadership on fundraising preparedness, operational scalability, and public company readiness.

Compensation

The compensation for this role ranges from $250,000 to $270,000 annually.
