Customs Classification Specialist

Overview

The Customs Classification Specialist is responsible for accurately categorizing imported and exported goods with the correct customs tariff codes while ensuring compliance with regulations to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign precise HS Code classifications for various products.
• Examine invoices, packing lists, and shipment documentation for accuracy.
• Ensure adherence to Saudi customs regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the operations team to manage customs declarations effectively.
• Identify and resolve any discrepancies related to classification or documentation.
• Stay informed about updates in customs regulations and tariff schedules.

Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in customs clearance or product classification.
• In-depth knowledge of Saudi customs laws and harmonized system (HS) codes.
• Proficient with customs documentation, including experience with the FASAH platform.
• Preferably has a background in freight forwarding or customs brokerage.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling classifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage workload efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
