Damage Claims Handler

Role overview

An established insurance team in Dublin is looking for an experienced Damage Claims Handler to manage motor damage claims throughout the full lifecycle. The position is suited to a claims professional who is comfortable taking ownership of files in a technically focused environment and working with multiple stakeholders to reach timely resolutions.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of motor damage claims from the moment they are logged until they are fully resolved.
• Assess each claim and decide on the most suitable route, whether that is repair, settlement, or another damage resolution option.
• Liaise with repairers, engineers, policyholders, and third parties to move cases forward efficiently.
• Handle claims in line with company procedures, policy terms, and all relevant regulatory obligations.
• Keep records accurate and up to date, while ensuring stakeholders receive clear and timely updates.
• Help deliver positive customer outcomes through efficient, professional claims handling.
• Support wider team targets and operational goals when needed.

What we are looking for

• Prior experience handling motor claims or damage claims in a general insurance setting.
• Sound knowledge of claims handling workflows and damage claim resolution.
• Background working with repair networks, external suppliers, or engineering contacts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus the ability to manage stakeholders well.
• Well-organised approach with the ability to balance several priorities at once.
• APA qualification is mandatory.
• A proactive, positive attitude and a collaborative team mindset.
