Data Analyst (Entry / Junior)

Role overview

This entry-level Data Analyst position supports work focused on mental health initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and program impact. The person in this role will help turn raw information into useful insights that guide decisions and improve services.

What you will do

• Gather data from relevant sources and prepare it for analysis by cleaning and organizing it.
• Create simple reports and dashboards to track key information.
• Carry out basic statistical analysis to support project and program decisions.
• Assist with data modeling and the handling of structured datasets.
• Translate findings into clear insights for people without technical backgrounds.
• Document the methods used so the work can be reviewed and repeated.
• Support the development of evidence-based interventions using data-informed input.

What we are looking for

• Solid analytical ability with some hands-on exposure to data work.
• Comfort with statistics and working with numerical datasets.
• Understanding of data modeling basics and structured data concepts.
• Good written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain insights clearly.
• Helpful experience with Excel, Google Sheets, or beginner BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Education or coursework in data science, statistics, mathematics, psychology, social sciences, or a similar area is preferred.
• Interest in mental health, community outcomes, or social impact work.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and handle a part-time hybrid work setup responsibly.

Work arrangement

This is a part-time role based in Sydney, New South Wales, with a hybrid setup that includes both on-site work and work-from-home flexibility.
