Overview
The Data Analyst role at Margaritaville at Sea is crucial for maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness of enterprise data to facilitate informed decision-making. This position merges analytical proficiency with data governance practices, supporting efficient data management and utilization throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive data profiling and quality evaluations across essential systems by identifying irregularities, inconsistencies, and trends to guarantee data reliability and business applicability.
- Continuously monitor data for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and alignment with governance policies, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
- Create and update critical documentation such as business glossaries, metadata registries, and data dictionaries to foster shared understanding and uniformity across departments.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to address and correct data issues, enforce governance protocols, and support the development of scalable data solutions.
- Assist with audit processes and data-related compliance initiatives in accordance with regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA by preparing relevant documentation and evidence.
- Design and produce reports and dashboards that visualize data quality and governance key performance indicators to promote transparency and ongoing improvements.
Experience and Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in data analysis, governance, or stewardship roles.
- Proficiency in SQL and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Looker.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks including DAMA and DCAM.
- Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communicator capable of engaging both technical and business stakeholders.
Skills and Abilities
- Proven ability to conduct thorough data profiling and quality assessments.
- Experienced in maintaining business glossaries, metadata, and data dictionaries.
- Demonstrated teamwork with engineering and product groups to resolve data quality issues.
- Background supporting compliance and audit requirements related to data management.
- Skilled in developing visual tools like dashboards to monitor data governance metrics.
