About Realta and the Role
Realta is an innovative tech company revolutionizing financial risk and compliance management. We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Fraud & Risk Management R&D Centre of Excellence situated in Limerick City Centre. Key Responsibilities
- Architect data structures, mappings, and workflows to achieve efficient data processing and analytical capabilities.
- Conduct research and hands-on evaluations including proof of concepts on data technologies to align with evolving business objectives.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines extracting data from diverse sources.
- Implement seamless data integration solutions facilitating smooth data transfer across systems.
- Continuously monitor and enhance data pipeline stability and efficiency.
- Design data storage strategies incorporating caching, partitioning, and indexing to boost responsiveness.
- Create and maintain thorough documentation of data systems and processes.
Candidate Profile and Experience
- Minimum of three years of progressive experience in Data Engineering, data warehousing, or a related technical area.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field like Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Prior work in Financial Services, FinTech, or Risk Management sectors is a significant plus.
- Experienced in building scalable data pipelines and streaming architectures on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Skilled in Apache Spark using PySpark or Scala for distributed big data processing.
- Hands-on familiarity with modern data storage and analytics platforms including Snowflake and DataBricks.
- Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
- Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and knowledge of NoSQL systems (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Neo4J).
- Advanced programming proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala alongside expert SQL skills.
- Exposure to visualization platforms like Sigma, Tableau, Looker, or PowerBI is advantageous.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and making data-driven technical decisions.
- Experience enforcing security standards and complying with data privacy regulations.
- Additional experience supporting machine learning workflows and MLOps data preparation is beneficial.
