Role Overview

The Data Scientist role is a fixed-term contract position spanning 36 months, directly supporting projects with Singapore Government agencies, including HDB. You will be involved in addressing complex business challenges by devising data-driven solutions that contribute to delivering affordable and quality housing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate as a pivotal member in strategic and complex data science projects, engaging in impactful problem-solving and algorithm selection while ensuring solution correctness and efficiency.
  • Enhance the team’s technical workflows and methods, organize group efforts, elevate practices where feasible, and conduct peer reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders from IT and business units to co-develop innovative, high-value solutions, building strong partnerships with system project leaders, data engineers, and business teams.
  • Maintain cutting-edge expertise in data science innovations by actively monitoring the landscape and continuously advancing your technical skills.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data science with a reputable organization.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills tailored for data science challenges using frameworks such as MECE and root cause analysis.
  • Practical knowledge of MLOps and experience in comprehensive model development and deployment in cloud environments like AWS.
  • Expertise in deep learning theories and practices, including transformer models, reinforcement learning, AI Engineering (neural embeddings, large language models, Generative AI systems using frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph), vector databases, EDD, optimization, statistical modeling, and multi-criteria decision analysis.
  • Experience in data engineering focused on data science needs (ELT processes, structured data transformations, and database technologies).
  • Strong team collaboration abilities and excellent communication skills, including data visualization.
  • Proficient programming skills in Python (with relevant frameworks), R, SQL, and Shell scripting.
