About the Role
The GMPT Security BP Team at ByteDance delivers comprehensive security services across application, cloud, data, account, large model, and business security for the Global Monetization group focused on advertising. This includes threat intelligence, penetration testing, red team activities, tool development, and managing risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead governance and implementation of data security measures within business lines, continuously advancing security maturity through ongoing threat analysis, risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and permission management.
- Respond to data security incidents by enhancing detection, monitoring, forensic analysis, incident response, and reviewing post-incident outcomes.
- Incorporate security best practices into the design of business systems to mitigate new risks introduced by emerging technologies and operational practices.
- Stay vigilant regarding industry developments and emerging data security risks, especially those related to modern tech architectures such as AI.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the entire data security lifecycle and familiarity with typical risks and mitigation tasks at each stage.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in data security roles, skilled in incident monitoring and response.
- Knowledgeable in key data security tools and products, including but not limited to Data Loss Prevention (DLP), User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA), sensitive data identification, data encryption and decryption, and secure data sharing. Proven experience deploying and operating such products.
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Go, Bash, C/C++, or Shell scripting, with strong aptitude for self-directed learning and problem solving.
- Excellent collaboration abilities, proactive mindset, and strong sense of ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with big data enterprise security environments like Hadoop, HDFS, ElasticSearch.
- Background in cybersecurity data analysis, mining, or threat intelligence is advantageous.
- Broad understanding of cybersecurity domains and eagerness to stay abreast of industry-leading tools and practices.
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple time zones.
