Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers a valuable opportunity to build skills within the retail sector. This role centers on delivering outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart's core values, maintaining the deli section's organization, and supporting inventory management and sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining and arranging designated deli areas efficiently.
• Managing inventory by rotating stock and monitoring product expiry dates.
• Ensuring all items are accurately priced and clearly labeled.
• Following established protocols for cold storage compliance, thermometer calibration, temperature recording, proper food handling, product rotation, and observing sell-by and expiration dates.
• Processing orders for deli products, including slicing and prepping meat, cheese, fried chicken, and assisting customers as needed.
• Supporting front-end staff with price verifications.
• Preparing deli foods such as sliced meats, cheeses, rotisserie and fried chicken, salads, and side dishes; utilizing slicers, stackers, ovens, and fryers effectively to fulfill specialty customer orders.
• Keeping the work area clean, organized, and free from debris, foreign objects, or spills.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $16.35.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
