Role Summary

We are looking for a skilled Drupal Developer with 3 to 4 years of practical experience to design, build, and maintain websites and applications using Drupal 10 and Drupal 11. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in custom module and theme development, API integrations, configuration management, security protocols, and optimization practices. This role involves close collaboration with various teams during the entire development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop, tailor, and sustain Drupal 10 and 11-based websites and web apps.
• Create custom modules aligned with business and technical needs.
• Design and customize Drupal themes using Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design techniques.
• Manage content types, fields, views, taxonomies, menus, blocks, workflows, user roles, and media assets.
• Implement and extend Drupal hooks, plugins, controllers, services, forms, entities, events, and dependency injection.
• Integrate third-party platforms via REST API, JSON:API, SOAP, and other web services.
• Develop and maintain secure custom APIs and integration points.
• Conduct Drupal core, module, and security updates and version upgrades.
• Support migrations from earlier Drupal versions or other CMS platforms to Drupal 10 and 11.
• Manage environment-specific configurations and synchronization using Drupal's configuration management.
• Utilize Composer and Drush tools for dependency and administrative management.
• Troubleshoot issues including PHP errors, database anomalies, integration problems, and configuration conflicts.
• Enhance performance via caching, database tuning, image optimization, and code improvements.
• Enforce secure coding and Drupal security best practices.
• Participate in code reviews ensuring adherence to Drupal standards.
• Use Git-based version control workflows for branching, merging, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, backend developers, QA, architects, and stakeholders.
• Prepare documentation for modules, configurations, integrations, and deployment procedures.
• Assist with testing phases, defect fixes, production releases, and post-deployment support.

Essential Technical Expertise

• Hands-on proficiency with Drupal 10 and 11 including deep knowledge of Drupal architecture, APIs, plugins, entities, hooks, events, and configuration management.
• Strong skills in custom module and theme creation.
• Expertise in PHP and object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with Symfony components used by Drupal.
• Experience with Composer and Drush utilities.
• Skilled in Twig templating, modern HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web techniques.
• Experience integrating with external systems using RESTful APIs, JSON:API, and related services.
• Working knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB databases.
• Proficient with Git version control systems like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Understanding of caching mechanisms, debugging, security hardening, and performance optimization within Drupal.
• Familiarity with modules such as Views, Webform, Paragraphs, Layout Builder, Media, CKEditor, and access control features.
• Knowledge of multilingual site support, content moderation, and publishing workflows.
• Comfortable working in Linux development environments.

Desired Skills

• Experience upgrading Drupal 9 or 10 sites to Drupal 11.
• Knowledge of decoupled or headless Drupal architectures.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React, Next.js, or Vue.js.
• Implementation experience with SAML, OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, LDAP, or Single Sign-On technologies.
• Working knowledge of Apache Solr or Elasticsearch search technologies.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as PHPUnit, Behat, or Drupal test suites.
• Familiarity with Drupal hosting platforms like Acquia Cloud, Pantheon, or Platform.sh.
• Understanding accessibility standards including WCAG compliance.
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and automated Drupal deployment workflows.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related fields; or equivalent professional expertise.
• Between 3 and 4 years of proven Drupal development experience.
• Demonstrated history of delivering projects using Drupal 10 and familiarity with Drupal 11 upgrades.
• Completed at least two full Drupal implementations including modules, themes, and integrations.
