Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with key project stakeholders—including client design teams, main contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors—to support engineering requirements.
- Maintain thorough information reporting to meet project deadlines, including managing the Engineering Task Log overseen by the Engineering Lead.
- Review and familiarize with Design/IFC specifications and drawings to fully grasp project scope; oversee coordination to convert design information into installation drawings via BIM personnel, ensuring compliance with specifications and schedules.
- Generate and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) as required.
- Support the Installation Package team in enforcing quality standards on site and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and specifications during validation and handover phases.
- Evaluate sub-contract and supplier tender submissions for technical compliance with design specifications.
- Monitor the project schedule to ensure engineering activities align without impacting procurement or other timelines.
- Oversee technical submittals and approvals management.
- Manage material procurement using Engineering Materials Reports (EMR), including material take-offs and monitoring lead times and field requirements.
- Ensure work is installed per project specifications and quality assurance plans, including adherence to benchmarking.
- Coordinate sub-contractors to ensure adequate information flow and alignment with project schedules and weekly meetings.
- Promote and evaluate innovative engineering practices to enhance project delivery times.
- Prepare and agree upon project completion criteria and close-out documentation.
- Draft sub-contract and supplier tender packages in coordination with the Project Quantity Surveyor.
- Manage construction work pack processes from development to implementation and handover, including onsite support for construction management.
- Lead BIM activities such as modular concepts, typical fabrication details, isometric generation, and material validation; control change management processes effectively.
- Provide mentorship and development support to junior engineers on the project team.
- Participate in project meetings and planning sessions based on project and managerial needs.
- Perform all other duties necessary to fulfill the role.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Between 5 to 7 years of experience with a recognized electrical contracting firm.
- Strong organizational and project planning capabilities.
- Team-oriented mindset with excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in Navisworks and engineering-related database systems.
- Familiar with project management and Primavera scheduling software, as well as CAD/BIM processes.
- Capable of managing workload and prioritizing effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Knowledge or experience with modularization and off-site fabrication methods.
