Role overview
Electrical Fab Enterprises is hiring a Sheet Bending Operator to run CNC and conventional press brake equipment for producing sheet metal parts in line with approved engineering drawings, quality norms, and planned production requirements. The position focuses on accurate bending, correct machine setup, safe working practices, and steady output quality.
Key responsibilities
- Operate CNC and conventional press brake machines for sheet bending work.
- Study engineering drawings, bending specifications, and work orders to understand job needs.
- Configure punches, dies, tooling, and machine settings based on the job.
- Carry out bending operations strictly as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Check dimensions with tools such as vernier calipers, steel scales, angle gauges, and protractors.
- Confirm that finished parts stay within the required tolerances and quality limits.
- Reduce material loss, rejected pieces, and rework through careful operation.
- Perform first-piece checks and ongoing in-process inspections.
- Keep the machine clean and handle routine preventive maintenance tasks.
- Work to the production plan and meet daily output targets.
- Follow all safety rules and PPE requirements at all times.
- Inform supervisors quickly about machine faults, tooling problems, or quality issues.
Skills and requirements
The role needs hands-on experience with press brake operations, the ability to interpret fabrication and sheet metal drawings, and a working understanding of bend allowance, bend deduction, and K-factor calculations. Candidates should also be familiar with sheet metal materials including CRCA, GI, stainless steel, and aluminum, and be comfortable using measuring and inspection instruments. Basic computer knowledge for CNC machine operation, strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and team collaboration are also important.
Qualification
ITI, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar qualification is required.
Experience
This role requires 2 to 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and press brake bending operations.
Compensation
The pay offered for this position is INR 25,000 to 35,000 per month.
