About the Role
Orange Recruitment is collaborating with a top-tier pharmaceutical manufacturer to find a Head of Engineering & Site Reliability. This pivotal leadership role involves owning the maintenance approach, maximizing asset dependability, and driving engineering excellence within a high-performing production facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all maintenance and engineering operations for production and facility assets.
- Design and apply preventive, predictive, and reliability-based maintenance programs.
- Enhance equipment availability, asset performance, and operational efficiency.
- Lead and nurture a skilled team of maintenance and engineering professionals.
- Schedule and coordinate maintenance to minimize impact on production activities.
- Assist with complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities for reliability improvements across manufacturing processes.
- Manage maintenance budget, contractors, and inventory of spare parts.
- Supervise external vendors ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure all maintenance work aligns with health, safety, GMP, and site mandates.
- Maintain the CMMS system accuracy and use maintenance data for informed decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement, lean manufacturing initiatives, and operational excellence.
- Prepare and communicate maintenance performance metrics and improvement plans to senior management.
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and future facility development.
Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience as a Maintenance, Engineering, or Reliability Manager or a similar role.
- Background in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, food, chemical, medical device, or industrial environments.
- Successful track record in leading maintenance teams and executing engineering improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Understanding of CMMS systems and asset management principles.
- Expertise in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and reliability engineering techniques.
- Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Engineering degree, technical qualification, or relevant trade experience is preferred.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and team growth.
