Overview
The A.C. Coy Company seeks an experienced Project Manager to oversee a major industrial automation project exceeding $20 million in value in the Greater Philadelphia area. This contract role involves coordinating a complex engineering initiative with a team of Project Managers. Work is primarily remote, with periodic visits to the project site in Eastern Pennsylvania and occasional overnight travel for training and support at other locations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project scope, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
- Make key decisions to keep projects on track and aligned with objectives.
- Secure and allocate adequate resources for smooth project execution.
- Foster strong communication and client relationships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain steady project advancements.
- Maintain accurate budget tracking, documentation, and manage amendments for each project.
- Oversee delivery, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Utilize ERP systems to monitor financials and governance mechanisms, including reporting and KPI updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of project management experience, especially within large-scale engineering, automation, industrial, or robotics projects.
- Minimum of 3 years using ERP systems.
- Proven ability to lead and facilitate meetings both virtually and face-to-face with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills to manage scope, budget, and timeline changes effectively.
- Excellent computer proficiency, including MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel within the United States and Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing complex projects related to engineering, automation, or industrial equipment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Familiarity or proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP.
Additional Information
- Applicants must reside within two hours of Greater Philadelphia, PA.
- Only direct applicants: no third-party vendors or subcontractors.
- Work authorization restricted to U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card holders).
- The contract is expected to last two years with an option for hire.
- Extensive initial in-person training: two weeks in Canada followed by two weeks at an active site in Kansas City, after which work will be mostly remote with some onsite visits.
